CANCELLED Van Gogh by Thread: This is an improvisational Hand Embroidery class. Students will work on wool or stabilized flannel to recreate a still life painting in all-over stitching like a tapestry. The stitches are basic, any stitcher with very rudimentary embroidery skills will be able to do them. Any subject matter would work but Still Life Paintings are particularly well suited to this approach. The embroidery is not meant to be an actual reproduction of a painting; rather the paint serves as the inspiration for a serendipitous exploration into stitchery.
