Japanese Sashiko #101 - Quilting



Class Time:  10:15 to 3:00  - Because this is an all-day class, come prepared with a sack lunch or snack to energize you throughout the day.  We will provide coffee, tea, and bottled water.

You will learn how to prepare your project for stitching, care for your thread, and the techniques for creating your Sashiko masterpiece which can be used to create pillows, purses, pin cushions, wall hangings, clothing or to quilt your pieced quilts with.

The class fee also provides all your supplies to make 5 Sashiko coasters--including the pre-printed panels with water soluble stitching guide lines, a full skein of traditional Olympus Sashiko thread, a full package of Hidamari brand needles in assorted sizes, plus interfacing and flannel backing. 

Additional Supplies to bring:

  1. Sewing scissors
  2. Pincushion
  3. Needle threader
  4. Note pad for taking notes
  5. Pen/pencil
