Serge & Take: Holiday Napkins

Curious about sergers or have one sitting at home that you'd like to get more comfortable using?  This hands-on "Make & Take" is a chance to explore what a serger can do without committing to a full class or a serger purchase.

We'll spend a little time talking about how sergers create stitches and looking at some of the most common stitch options, with examples to see and touch.  Then we'll focus on the roll hem -- what it is, how it works, and where you can use it in home decore, quilting, and garment projects.  You'll have a chance to practice on scrap fabric before jumping in and finishing the edges of your own holiday napkins.

We've chosen a fun and festive poinsettia block design, the perfect size for generous napkins.  The design comes in both a black-background and a white-background version, so you can choose the look that bests suits your holiday table.  Napkin kits are sold in sets of four, and most should be able to buy additional sets as available.

PLEASE NOTE:  This is not a serger threading or basic machine-operation class.  Some instruction will be provided, but the goal is to explore a specific serger technique, get some hands-on experience, and take home something festive you've made yourself!

Machines for use have been graciously provided by Save Stores.
